Ready for the Rare:  HCID Skills for EMS & Hospital Response – 4/21/26 OR 4/22/26

Bloomington Fire Station One – 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This training is for Emergency Department staff, Infection Prevention Staff and EMS.  Class size is           limited to 25.  Two class dates are offered – 4/21/26 and 4/22/26.  Lunch and CEU’s provided.

Active Intruder Training Workshop – Shoreview Community Center (Shoreview Room)

  • April 9th, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. :  Long-Term Care, Home Care & Hospice
  • April 24th, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. : Hospitals, Clinics, EM, EMS, and Public Health
  • Taught by former FBI Special Agent, Joe Malhoit, this workshop will teach participants how to identify, avoid, and survive a violent incident both in and outside of the workplace.  Using practical tools and neuropsychology, Mr. Malhoit will teach participants how to recognize and prevent violent incidents, as well as how to respond when an incident “breaks bad”. 
  • Topics include:  Hardening and Preparing Facilities, Pre-Indicators of Violence, The Neurology of Safety, De-escalation Techniques 
  • Recommended Audience:  Frontline staff, leadership, emergency managers, security, support staff, and others
